Happy Friday, and hooray for the weekend!
This was a tricky puzzle, but a couple of you did guess correctly. This item is a handle, a parcel carrier. Most boxes were wrapped in twine to keep them orderly. The wire ends of this handle hooked through the twine. The fancier department stores would print the name of their store on the handle for advertising purposes.
