How sweet it is!

As most of you k now, Beverly and I have been planning a trip to Brimfield, Massachusetts for quite some time. So when Lyn Slade (owner of Charlotte’s House B&B and our For Your Country Kitchen recipe queen) invited us to stay at her B&B, we knew it was serendipity. Thus, our “play-cation” began.

We arrived Monday afternoon, and received a very sweet welcome. Waiting in our room was a plate of chocolate chunk and pecan shortbread cookies. Yum!

Since Beverly and I love each other so much, we decided to share a room, and we’re lucky enough to have the master suite. Lyn’s mother created all the bedroom quilts.

After a good night’s sleep, our Brimfield adventure began!

Even though the temperature was in the 90’s and the humidity was high, our spirits were not dampened in the slightest.

There are so many wonderful things that we found that we wish we could share with you, but we do have to save some photography surprises for the magazine.

Beverly found this awesome tin architectural piece that you know you will see in a future issue of Create & Decorate. And I fell in love with this fantastic sprinkler watering can. Both of these finds made us very happy–and that was just the beginning of the day!

We ended Day 1 of our “play-cation” with an evening showing of the movie Eclipse (you Twi-hard fans will appreciate that).

While basking in the glow of our treasure hunting, we were yet again amazed that no matter where it is we go junking, bags of kettle corn magically appear in the car. Does it get any sweeter than that?
