Everyone enjoys hearing news about a happy occasion—this year marks the 20th anniversary for Weeks Dye Works!
If you enjoy having a needle and thread in your hand to embroider and appliqué with, then chances are you have used product and floss from Weeks Dye Works. Specializing in hand over-dyed fibers, the company is also known for its environmentally friendly, American-made craft products. From embroidery floss and pearl cottons to 1-ply wool, sewing thread and linen and wool fabric lines, the family-owned and –operated company has grown from humble beginnings to become a worldwide presence in the quilting and needlearts industries.
Create & Decorate magazine featured the history of Weeks Dye Works in the Country Lanes profile in October 2011. We are happy to share their story with you again:
With 19 employees in an 8,200-sq.-ft. facility, WDW has come a long way from its “bathtub days.” It offers 587 color/fiber combinations, a number that continues to grow every few months.
To mark the milestone, Weeks Dye Works (weeksdyeworks.com) is unveiling a variety of initiatives throughout the year, for both retailers and product users. This includes a new anniversary floss color and linen color, plus a monthly Facebook sweepstakes that began Jan. 20.
